Please ensure that you have had a blood test authorised by your GP before booking in for a phlebotomy appointment. We would prefer it if a form given to you by a hospital consultant was taken for blood testing to the West Block at Cheltenham General Hospital before 4pm.
The surgery will contact you if there is a significant problem with your results. Results can be viewed in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or in your Systmonline account. However, if you need to find out your results at the Main Surgery then please phone 01242 580644 and book a telephone appointment with the doctor who requested the investigation. The doctor will then phone you back or will text you the result (if you have agreed to this). Most blood tests and urine tests will be ready after 2 days.
Please note:
- Some tests such as thyroid tests will not be ready for about a week.
- Some hormone tests and clotting studies may not be ready for a month.
- Most x-ray and ultrasound results are available 10 working days after the test is performed.
Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- in your Systmonline account
- as a text message, if you have consented and it is applicable
