I run a coil clinic every Friday afternoon and you can book in directly however there are some rules to read first to ensure we get the timing right.
- A coil can be fitted anytime as long as you are using a reliable form of contraception.
Condoms however do not count.
- If you are not using contraception or are using condoms then please do not have sex from day one of your period until your coil fitting.
- If you are booking for a coil change then please do not have sex for 7 days before your appointment.
- If your coil is out of date then talk to me directly.
My receptionists will ask you if you have read these rules before confirming an appointment.
Also remember to take 600mg of ibuprofen or 1gm of paracetamol if you cannot take ibuprofen approximately an hour before your appointment.
Yours
Dr Kate Philpot
