If you need help when we are closed

During Out of Hours please phone NHS 111 for help not the surgery as our phones will only forward you to this number anyway. Please only use this service for urgent problems or emergencies that cannot wait until the Surgery reopens.

The phone will be answered by a health care operator. The operator will ask for your name and a description of the problem that you have. They may ask questions that seem irrelevant but please be patient as they have to follow a national set of computerised questions called “NHS pathways”. Sometimes they may put you on hold and ask a more experienced health adviser for assistance.

A doctor may then phone you back to discuss the problem. You may be given advice, asked to attend the primary care centre at Cheltenham General Hospital or a doctor may visit you. Sometimes they may advise that you go to an accident and emergency department. They may suggest calling a ambulance.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
